Wow! Doesn't time fly

Life is just screaming past at such a fast rate of knots at the moment, blink and I've missed another week - before you know it Christmas will be upon us!!!

Anyway, here's a card I made recently for my sister in laws birthday using Scruffy Little Cat, Chanel - they are all sooo gorgeous I just love them!  I coloured her with Spectrum Noir pens & pencils - will add the details later (in a bit of a rush this morning).  The patterned papers are from the darks SLC paper pad and the flowers were made using the template on the SLC CD.  You can't really see it in the photo but the necklace that she is holding has been accented with glossy accents and glamour dust.

Hope you like & I'll finish this post later - soz.

Crafters Companion May Challenge

Okay, so I know we're nearer the end of May than the beginning but you can still enter the Crafters Companion monthly challenge for the chance to win £30 to spend in the CC online store!!!! (I'd need to win LOTS of time to buy all the stuff I need).

The theme for this month is masculine cards so I picked out a lovely Mulberry wood character called 'Relax' and coloured him with my trustee Spectrum Noir pens (colours used at the end of this little post).  The backing papers I used are from the Mulberry Wood everyday CD and are: coordinates 1, design 6 colour 5 and coordinates 2, design 6 colour 1.  I also used the centre of the Enchanted Spring diesire die and scalloped tags die, little bit of bakers twine and pearl dots and you're done!

Okay, so now to spectrum noir colours used (grab a coffee, you may be some time!):

Bear: TN3, TN5, EB3 and IG6 for nose
Deckchair body: GB2, GB8, GB10
Stripes: TB1, TB3
Wellies: LG4, LG5 & DG3

Dog: EB1, EB2, EB3, EB5
Grass: LG1, LG4 & LG5
Butterfly: TB1 & TB5

Blender used variously throughout

Told you it may take a while!  Anyway, must be off to get ready for work

Not so much of a Sneak Peek!

Well, the cat's out of the bag now (pardon the pun!).  Scruffy Little Cat is going down incredibly well with crafters out there, as we all knew it would, they are just so sassy and gorgeous.  Speaking of gorgeous, get a load of this little beauty.....

Isn't she just fabulous! and I have to say, amazing fun to colour.  I used Centura Pearl - hint of silver for the card base, Lace Border 4 for the border at the top of the bottom cut out with black cardstock.  The papers are from the darks paper pad and I used the CD template Design 4 for the flower shapes (you can re-size the flowers so that you get just what you want), the image and sentiment are from the Amy stamp sheet.  Amy was coloured with my ever faithful Spectrum Noir pens:

PL1-5, BT1-4, TN1-4, HB1, GG1, FS1, FS5
FS6, FS7, FS8, CR4, CR6, CR10, DR2,
BGR1-4, LG5, DG3, GB4, Blender

Few gems for accents in the flowers and you're done!  I now also have a set of the absolutely gorgeous and completely stunning Spectrum Noir pencils, so from now on you are going to be seeing a lot more depth and shading to my images (hopefully! - Leann's DVD is amazing to teach you how to get the best out of them).

Anyhow, I best get off to work!

Scruffy Little Cat Sneak Peek 3

Ooh, not long to wait now, this range launches May 9th

Think this is one of my favourite cards, just love the pink and chocolate colours!  The image is from the topper sheets and I've used Neenah Desert Storm (fab card) to create a spring card base (used the ultimate pro to make short work of the folding).  To embellish, I've used Coredinations neutrals for my mats and also for the embossing (using Chic embossing folder - part of the new launch), which I also used the sand it set and dust buddy on.  The flowers came from the CD (embellishment Design 7), and they sit atop leaves from Diesire leaf 2 die.  Ooh, forgot to say that I spray & sparkled the flowers using pearl diamond spray & sparkle - YOU MUST GET THIS!!!! the backing paper is actually a doily from the CD (Doilies Design 6).

Anyway, enough from me now, but you will LOVE this!

Scruffy Little Cat Sneak Peek 2

Hope you're enjoying all the wonderful cards/projects that the team have produced, this has been such a wonderful launch to work on, and I don't know about everyone else, but I have really loved it!

This card was made using one of the die cut toppers, isn't she just lovely! I used flitter glue and gilding flakes around her to give the image some sparkle and shine, the backing paper is from the paper pad (darks) and both the tag and the bow are from the CD (Bow: Templates design 1, Tag: Embellishments Design 6).  I used another of the sentiments from the Ashleigh stamp set and some coredinations cardstock from the brights and neutrals range.

Scruffy Little Cat - Sneak Peek

Well, the upcoming launch on Create and Craft for Crafters Companion is the completely stunning, gorgeous and lovely, Scruffy Little Cat.  These beautiful little ladies are a complete departure for Crafters Companion, but having worked with them a bit now, I am utterly in love, I know sooo many women that these will be ideal for.  Not only will there be a CD, but there are a range of stamps, die cut toppers, paper pads and embossing folders too!!!, could you really ask for more?

Anyway, onto my first card, this one uses the Ashleigh stamp set, the Darks paper pad (there is also a lights) and the Chic embossing folder.

On the embossing I added distress ink (Brushed Corderoy) and Viva paper pen dots in copper to make it look like rivets, looks even better in real life.  I cut out the sentiment (which also comes on the same set with Ashleigh) using the Diesire Elegance Stamping Frame, I also used Kraft card and my Collal glues (would not be without them now!).  Oh, the glitter on her eyelashes comes from a Wink of Stella pen in black and these images are going to be sooo much fun to bling up!

For those of you interested, here's a list of the Spectrum Noir pens used (might want to get a coffee first):

IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, CR4, CR6, CR7,
DR5, DR6, DR7, FS1, FS3, FS5, FS7, FS8, FS9,
TN2, TN3, TN5, TN9, EB4,
PP1, PP2, LG1, LV3, HB2, HB3, Blender

Like I said these are completely different, but I'm sure you will all fall in love with them as we on the team have.

The full details of what's included in the kit are:

- Two 6x6" paper pads
- Two 5x7" embossing folders
- One die-cut topper sheet

Wild about you

This is yet another card playing with the Rachelle Anne Miller stamps etc... from Crafters Companion,  I really do love this range!

A friend in work asked me to make a card for her Nana who is going to be 80, she preferred muted colours and the only other thing I was told was that she likes Giraffes, so the RAM range sprang to mind straight away.  She also wanted the card to say 'Nana' (specific spelling) and have '80' on it.

The background paper was printed from the CD (coordinating paper Design 6, colour 2) as were the flowers (Embellishments Design 3 and Design 5), really like the additional embellishments that are being provided on the CDs now.  I used the sentiment from the stamp set too and cut this out with the Scalloped Tags die, the leaves are cut from Coredinations Pastels card using diesire Leaf Swirls, I've mounted the image onto Kraft Card, which was cut out with the Diesire Cameo Stamping Frame.  I used my Silhouette to cut out the Nana and 80 using both Coredinations pastels and Tim Holtz Craft Core Cardstock.

For those interested in the Spectrum Noir Colours used:

Giraffe, Bird and flowers: FS1, GB2, BG2, BG4, BG5, BG6, PP4, CR3 and FS8
Shadow: IG1

I even made a box to put the card in as it's 8x8, thankfully, she was really happy with the card & even gave me £5 for it!!! I've never earned £5 for a card before, but she was insistent it was worth every penny.

Well, hope you like & I'll be back later in the week with the start of some sneak peeks of the next Crafters Companion launch - all I can say is it's completely different from pretty much everything else they have EVER done, but simply stunning!
